Arrival and Departure
We encourage students to arrive 10 minutes before class starts. for their safety, students should be picked up immediately after class. Please call the studio if you know you running late.
Attending class regularly is pertinent to the growth and development of a dancer. All students are expected to attend class promptly and on a regular basis. Furthermore, regular attendance is mandatory for participation in the recital. To prevent injuries, students that arrive more than 10 minutes late to class will have to watch class from the front of the room.
Adding or Dropping a Class
In the interest of keeping tuition accounts up-to-date and accurate, students who wish to add/drop a class from which they are registered must sign a "Class withdrawal/Class Addition Form," or parents will be responsible for full tuition payments.
Cell Phone Policy
No cell phones or computers may be used during class time. (This includes texting).
Parents are allowed to observe class the first week of March. Observation of classes is left entirely to the discretion of the instructor. This rule is put into place to relieve students of unnecessary distractions during vital learning time.
*Please contact our office if a family member is visiting from out of town that would like to observe during a week that is not designated for "Parent Watch Week."
- Class placement is the sole decision of the studio Director and Teacher.
- Students will not be put on Pointe until they are developmentally ready.
- The following classes require dual enrollment: Pom, Modern, Musical Theatre, Leaps & Turns
All students must wear appropriate dance attire and shoes while in class. Showcase Dance Studio has a strict dress code in place to observe body alignment. Please refer to our "Dress Code" form for specific attire/shoes for each class.
Only water is allowed in the studios. No food, drinks or gum.
Showcase Dance Studio WILL close in accordance with Prince William County Schools holiday school schedule.
November 24-29 Fall Break
December 21-January 3 Winter Break
March 21-March 27 Spring Break
May 27-30 Memorial Day Weekend
When your child has a fever, please keep them home until their temperature returns to normal. This will ensure that they will be well enough to resume class activities the following week. Please call our office and inform our secretaries so we can pass this information along to their teacher.
Lost and Found
Please mark all dancewear, shoes, and personal items with your child's name in a discrete place with permanent marker. We will make every effort to return lost items; however, we cannot be responsible for any items your child brings to class.
Students who miss a class will have an opportunity to make it up with a similar class within 4 weeks of their absence. Please check with the office to determine the best makeup class for your child. Tuition will not change in the event of a missed class.
Parents must notify the Director/teachers regarding children who require an inhaler or other medications during their time at Showcase Dance Studio. Please inform us if your child has special needs. All information about our students is kept confidential.
Showcase Dance Studio accepts the following forms of payment; 1. Personal Checks 2. Cash 3. Mastercard, Visa, Discover. All credit card transactions will aquire a 3% convenience fee to cover the fees charged by those companies.
Showcase Dance Studio requires an annual registration fee of $35.00 per student, or $60.00 per family. This fee is due upon registration and covers the cost of mailings, postage, insurance, supplies, studio maintenance, music license fee, etc. The registration fee is non-refundable.
Returned Check Fee
To offset bank charges, Showcase Dance Studio will charge $35.00 for each returned check.
Social Media Clause
Ensure that your social networking conduct is consistent with our Company policies listed in our handbook.
Showcase Dance Studio reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if the regularly scheduled teacher is ill or otherwise unable to teach class.
Termination of Enrollment
In certain circumstances, when it is in the best interest of one or more students, it may be necessary for for the school owner to terminate a students enrollment. Reasons for termination of enrollment include the following:
- Disruptive or dangerous behavior by students or their parents.
- Abuse of other children, staff, or school property
- Inability of Showcase to meet the child's needs
Tuition is due in advance on the 15th of each month. Therefore, Septembers tuition is due in August and your final tuition payment for June will be made in May. Tuition is due at the time of registration. Showcase reserves the right to cancel any enrollment of any student who is 30 days delinquent in tuition payments. If you know you will be gone the week tuition is due, please pay in advance.
- All parents are required to pay the first months tuition upon registration. Students will not be admitted to enroll without this payment, as this payment holds your child's placement in class. The first month's tuition is non-refundable.
- After registering (paying for September lessons and your registration fee), monthly tuition must be paid by automatic credit card payment. Tuition will be debited from your account between the 15th and 17th of each month (October-May). All registrants are required to fill out a “Credit Card Authorization Form” at the start of each season during registration. This form authorizes Showcase Dance Studio to withdrawal your monthly tuition.
- We offer a 5% discount on annual tuition that is paid in-full by September 30th of the current class year.
Showcase Dance Studio WILL NOT close in accordance with Prince William County School inclement weather policy. Please visit our website, Facebook page, or call our phone messaging system for up-to-date information concerning studio closings. The Director will make a decision on studio closings by 2:00pm and an e-mail will be sent to your family account.
